What Are Discount Codes?
Discount codes are promotional codes that guests can enter during checkout to receive a discount on their booking. They're a great way to attract new guests, reward returning visitors, or run seasonal promotions.
Discount codes are managed from the Discounts section, found under Website in your dashboard.
Creating a Discount Code
Go to Discounts — In the left sidebar, click Website, then open Discounts.
Click Create Discount — Click the button to start creating a new code.
Enter a code name — Choose a memorable code your guests will type at checkout — for example, SUMMER25 or WELCOME10. Keep it short and easy to remember.
Choose the discount type — Select Percentage (e.g., 10% off the booking total) or Fixed amount (e.g., €25 off).
Set the discount value — Enter how much the discount is worth — the percentage or the fixed euro amount.
Set optional limits — Optionally configure: a minimum booking value the guest must meet, start and end dates for when the code is valid, a maximum number of total uses, and a per-guest usage limit.
Choose which listings apply — Decide whether the code works for all your listings or only specific properties.
Save the discount code — Review your settings and save. The code is active immediately (or from the start date if you set one).
Discount Types
Percentage discount — Reduces the booking total by a percentage. For example, a 10% code on a €500 booking gives the guest a €50 discount.
Fixed discount — Reduces the booking total by a fixed amount. For example, a €25 code takes €25 off regardless of the booking total.
Controlling Code Usage
You have several options to control when and how discount codes can be used:
Validity dates — Set a start and end date. The code only works within this window — perfect for seasonal campaigns.
Usage limits — Set a maximum number of total uses (e.g., "first 50 guests") and/or a per-guest limit (e.g., "once per guest").
Minimum booking value — Require a minimum spend before the code applies (e.g., "€200 minimum booking").
Listing restrictions — Apply the code to all your listings, or restrict it to specific properties.
Discount codes are case-insensitive. SUMMER25 and summer25 are treated as the same code, so guests don't need to worry about capitalization.
How Guests Use Discount Codes
During checkout on your booking engine, guests see a "Discount Code" field. They enter the code, and the discount is applied immediately — the updated price breakdown shows the original amount, the discount, and the new total.
Managing Your Discount Codes
From the Discounts section, you can: view all codes in a table with their status, type, value, and usage count; see usage statistics — how many times each code has been used; edit codes — change usage limits, validity dates, or listing restrictions; and deactivate codes — turn off codes you no longer want to honor without deleting them.
This gives you full control over your promotional strategy and helps you track which campaigns are driving the most bookings.
